Worker Training Requirements

All Twinkle Care workers must complete certain checks and training before starting work. This page lists everything you need, with direct links to complete each requirement.

Mandatory Pre-Employment Checks

All workers must have these completed and copies provided before commencing. Send certificates to info@twinklecare.com.au.

NDIS Worker Screening Check

Required for all workers delivering NDIS supports. Apply through the Victorian Government portal.

A current (within 3 years) National Police Check is required for all workers.

Mandatory NDIS Training

Required for all workers before commencing NDIS support delivery. Free online.

NDIS Worker Orientation Module

Free

"Quality, Safety and You" — covers the NDIS Code of Conduct and your responsibilities as a support worker. Approximately 90 minutes with a certificate on completion.

Additional Training — SIL Workers

SIL Roles Only

Workers in Supported Independent Living (SIL) roles must complete three additional courses by 1 October 2026. These are free via the NDIS Commission's etrainu program (up to 15,000 places — register early).

Note: Registrations are currently closed due to high demand — check back regularly as new places open. Workers who have completed etrainu's Disability Essentials library do not need to re-enrol.

Positive Behaviour Support Training Package

Free · ~5.5 hrs total

One enrolment covers all three required courses:

1. Positive Behaviour Support
Understanding and applying positive behaviour support in practice · 1.5 hrs
2. Human Rights and You — Zero Tolerance
Rights, responsibilities and protecting the people you support · 3 hrs 20 min
3. Trauma-Informed Support Films
Understanding trauma and providing trauma-informed support · 35 min

First Aid — HLTAID011 (Provide First Aid)

A current First Aid certificate is highly valued and may be required for some participant support situations. First Aid HQ offers accredited training across Victoria.
